The American Academy of Implant Dentistry's Maxicourses are globally recognized for their exceptional quality and quantity of implant education. This course meets the prerequisite qualifications to take the Associate Fellow examination, your tuition includes your first year membership in the AAID, is an impressive accolade on a resume, and is a substantial verification of your level of dental implant training. Additionally, it is difficult to find a comparable caliber of instructorship at this cost per credit hour.
Considering nine of the ten modules offer hands on &/or surgical aspects, the one weekend per month for 9 months of the continuum must be a commitment to on site attendance. Our 10th module is made up of assignments that will be completed independently throughout the course and minor segments that occur virtually, but all sessions are mandatory to achieve the 300 hours.
Under extreme circumstances a partial or full non-surgical module might be considered for remote digital participation. This would be on a case-by-case basis, requires prior approval, and may require aspects to be made up in additional assignments or hands-on made up with time added to the next module in addition to remotely observing the lecture aspects.
Yes. We require a $2,500.00 deposit to reserve your seat. The remaining balance can be divided into monthly installments not to exceed the month of the 5th Module. The further in advance you enroll, the more budget friendly the installment payments. Also, FirstUnited Bank offers a tuition loan program specifically for our program that can distribute the balance for multiple years. You can find their contact information under the Tuition & Enroll tab.
This course is a 10 month commitment, but if life throws an unexpected curve prior to the beginning of the course, we will refund the paid tuition less applicable processing fees. There are no refunds once the course begins short of a dire emergency. Those will be evaluated on a case by case basis for consideration of a prorated tuition reduction option to complete the course the following year.
Part of your tuition pays to initiate your membership in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). Upon completion of the Maxicourse you are eligible to take the Associate Fellow examination. Although highly encouraged, the Associate Fellow examination is not a requirement nor is the cost included in the Maxicourse tuition. There is a separate fee for the exam. You can continue on in pursuing AAID Fellow and ultimately ABOI/ID Diplomate status.
Yes. These are provided on the Tuition & Enroll page.
Any 4th year dental student, graduate program dental student, or practicing dentist will gain expanded implant knowledge and improved success by completing the Maxicourse regardless of their existing level of expertise.
Typically each dentist will bring qualifying patients from their personal practice. This can potentially pose a challenge &/or be cost prohibitive for our dentists who travel from beyond Oklahoma's boarders to attend. We make every effort to retain a pool of potential local patients that can satisfy at least one patient for the course surgical placement aspects. Utilizing a patient from the patient pool does entail an additional time requirement for the review of transmitted digital documentation and on site physical examination of the patient. Our Program Coordinator welcomes your call for a conversation if you have reservations concerning the patient selection obligations.
Yes, but depending on the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry's meeting schedule and the standing of your license, it can take several months. Therefore, it is important to enroll early and immediately begin the process through the coordination of our Program Coordinator. She will serve as the intermediary to ensure expediency in petitioning the Oklahoma Board requesting a Volunteer License for each of the live patient modules. Typically there is not an incurred fee nor would you be asked to appear in person before the Board when all is in good standing, but both could change if aspects are called into question.
Any licensed dentist, regardless of standing, inability, or failure to attain a Volunteer License, can attend the Maxicourse, but will be restricted to observation of the live patients aspects. A conversation with our Program Coordinator should occur in advance of enrollment.
Some states recommended, accept, or may entertain the completion of a Maxicourse as an option to restore licensing to good standing when the complaint and Dental Board action was implant dentistry related. Oklahoma will consider, but not guarantee, issuing a Volunteer License in association with some aspects of disciplinary action. They will not in association with required remediation. We can act as an intermediary to determine the probability and process in association with the specifics of your situation.
